no new posts because there's just not that much going on lately. i'm still recuperating from surgery and some days are better than others. yesterday morning i was feeling pretty blue and useless. i can't do chores or *really* play with Little Dude so i just sit and watch tv. and play on the computer. and eat. and there's only so much rerun tv everything is reruns right now since it's just before school starts! i can watch and only so much i can eat. i really am going to have to start exercising if all this eating doesn't stop. just kidding, folks. let's not get too crazy! and we wouldn't want that at all, now would we? i'm allergic to exercise and sweat, you know! but y'all bring us some DELICIOUS food and i must eat it up!
went to the plastic surgeon today. very quick visit just to keep a check on things and all looked well. we'll start filling up these expanders next week at about 100ccs once a week. i'll slowly get "boobs" back! we're calling them "foobs". short for fake boobs, of course! in the meantime i'm still limited with movements as we don't want the chest muscles moving around too much. since the expanders are under the chest muscles, too much movement in the chest means the expanders could shift. um, no thank you! i'll be a good girl and follow directions! even if it does stink that i can't play. or pick up my nephew when he walks over and holds up his little hands. oh does it break my heart that i can't pick him up...especially when he does that! but really, do you realize just how much of our movements involve chest muscles? yeah, neither did i!
we've i say "we" because my Love is in this with me all the way! got an appointment with the chemo oncologist on friday morning. i'm hoping she'll give us an idea when i'll be going to get my port and then starting chemo. i know i need to continue healing but i feel like we're just waiting around right now, ya know? i'm ready to get this moving! the sooner we get moving, the sooner we get done! we're also hoping to get more pathology information. they said it'd be a couple of weeks and tomorrow will be 2 weeks post op. woot!
in other news, we go meet Little Dude's FIRST GRADE teacher tomorrow evening. i can't believe my baby boy is already a first grader! it was just yesterday that we were practicing saying "momma", "dada", and "roll tide" his first words at 6ish months old. no joke. and now we're in first grade and buying size five shoes for his big ol' feet! oh how time flies! he's in a new school this year and, as much as we loved the old one, i think this one will challenge him and keep him more interested and invested in learning. his reading has exploded over the summer and the new school should keep that momentum, as well.
okay, enough blah, blah-ing for now. it's time to shower up still awesome! and attempt to find a comfortable sleeping position. i actually flipped and propped onto my front/left side this morning for a few minutes. it. was. awesome. probably the best 10 minutes of sleep i've had since before surgery. i was afraid to stay like that for too long though so i turned back over! but it was enough to give me hope that good sleep will happen again someday! nighty night, y'all!
So happy that things are starting to heal up for you! I love you girly!
