i think i've started this post about 4 or 5 times today. it's a tough day to process because while i'm coming out of my "chemo coma" still a bit foggy! and feeling better physically, it's a rough day emotionally. a year ago today, my wonderful Grandma lost her fight against pancreatic cancer and went to spend eternity with Jesus. she was amazing, y'all. and i still think about her every day...now more than ever.
people tell me that i'm "so positive" and "strong". well, i've got God and good genes, folks. both sides of my family are strong people. we do what we've got to do when it's got to be done. and i am so thankful for that!
the Big Guy Upstairs and i had a good, long talk when all this cancer mess started. we established that i am not done here. i have so much more to do for Him, for my Love, and for my Little Dude! while i'm still not exactly sure what God has in store for me, i know it's gonna be great. and i'm excited about how things will unfold! we're still talking a lot and i have faith that all will be revealed...in due time!
as for other stuff, i'm starting to feel a lot better. i'm off the nausea meds now which contributes to the "chemo coma"! so maybe i can stay awake for more time. and maybe i can find something to EAT! when i'm nauseous, i like to eat cold foods so i've been eating a lot of fruit cocktail and popsicles. maybe it's time for something more substantial?
oh! and the hair is still hangin' in there! woohoo!
my sister and friends have started fundraising for the Making Strides walk for breast cancer in early October and are doing an AMAZING job! i'm so proud of them for the huge efforts they are making! and not to be outdone, my sister in law and more friends have started fundraising for another walk in later October! yeah, October is boobie cancer awareness month, of course! if you'd like information about making a donation to either or both teams (Team Cancer Schmancer and This One's For the Girls, respectively) please let me know...i'll be more than happy and willing to give you the information!!
