commence phase 3.

well, chemo started yesterday.  it was...hmmm...a lot different than i thought it would be.  not really sure how i thought it would be though!  the port definitely made getting stuck so much better!  could have something to do with the numbing creme i got to put on it, too!  anyway, we saw the doctor first and then started the treatment.  we were there about 4 hours but it really didn't feel that long.  best part of the whole thing was the recliner for treatment...it has butt warmers!  and i got a warm blankie, too!

my Love and i sat there while i got all my different meds/poisons.  i had a little snack.  we cut up a little and i tried on a few wigs.  which were terrible!  i'll just go without if they are that bad!  and passed the time pretty easily.

we were told all sorts of things to watch out for an whatnot.  came home and immediately got on my nausea med schedule.  i do NOT want to be nauseous!  that and headaches are the WORST!  but we got on top of it asap so hopefully i won't have an issue.  i'm not really hungry either, but that's okay.  kinda normal lately, actually.

i am, however, VERY tired.  took a shower last night and laid down in the bed to "rest" after.  then i woke up this morning!  guess i needed the sleep.

had to go back this morning for a shot.  boo!  something to boost my blood counts.  it pretty much puts the bone marrow into overdrive and make it pump out the good stuff.  it'll cause some bone pain but i'm also on meds for that.  there's a med for that!  but they were very gentle with me and it didn't hurt at all!

still CRAZY tired today...took a 4 hour "nap" and just recently woke up.  ate a little bite here and there and have had stuff to drink.  staying on the meds.  oh, and FREEZING!  good thing i have multiple electric blankies!

so far so good, i guess!

  1. Vicki: Good to see that you are not feeling terrible. Glad that you are able to sleep, too. Stay WARM!!! (Just go outside if you need to.)

  2. I hope you don't have a rough time with the chemo. I know for Mom it was a little different every time. Some times she would get really sick from it and some times it barely effected her. I know she hated the shot though. Said it made her bones hurt.
