liar, liar...my pants are SO on fire.

'member how i said i was gonna have my hair long until i was (approximately) 147 years old?  yeah...i LIED.  this short hair stuff is AWESOME!!  no zillions of products, no gallons of shampoo, no toting hair dryers everywhere, no need for another shower when i get done drying all that hair, and it is SO much cooler in this heat!  i. love. it.  so, i'm keeping it short for a while.  eventually i'll have to grow it back out to at least donation length! 

so what's been going on?  all sorts of stuff!  i'm still training for my bike ride and 5K run.  the ride is only...2.5 weeks away.  YIKES!  it's gonna be great though and i'm super looking forward to seeing all my family and friends on "Team Vicki"!  we're having shirts made as i type and my aunt (who also came up with the design!) printed up tattoos.  we're gonna be so cute!  or handsome.  whatever.  radness...that's what we've got!  the run is on Labor Day and i'm determined to be ready by then.  otherwise we have just been running around doing the usual summer vacation stuff!

on the anniversary of my diagnosis, i wanted to do something big.  i requested that my newest nephew be born that day but apparently he didn't get the memo.  so, my sister-in-law, cousin, and i ran THREE MILES.  i have never EVER run that far!  i was determined and i knew i could do it.  and as soon as i hit that mark, i sat down on the curb and just bawled my eyes out.  i cried for everything that i/we have been through in the last year.  i cried because i did it.  i cried because God is so amazing and faithful.  i cried because of, well, everything!  and goodness was i proud of myself!

only a couple more Herceptin treatments to go and then i can get this stupid port out!  it's handy but quite annoying.  i'm definitely counting down to that day!

and now, hair pics!  my chemo curls have finally come out and it is super duper cute!!  i've never had curly curly hair before.  just waves.  i have no idea what week post chemo this is 'cause i finally quit counting.  that's a good sign, right?  i took a couple with hair accessories in, too.  'cause, you know, i do that now.  ;o)

and it gets WAY more curly than that after i've been out in the humidity.  super cute!

 look close and you'll see a little black flower!  i just took the ones i wore on my hats and put them on headbands.
