enjoying summertime.

yeah, i know.  i'm a slacker.  haven't posted pics or a blog entry in a loooooooong time.  but i have a GREAT reason!  we are completely and thoroughly enjoying our summer and making up for lost FUN time!  we haven't been home for a weekend in the last 4 weeks that's every one since school got out! and have plans for at least 1 more weekend trip.  whew!

where have we been?  well, we went to Texas to visit my Gpa for the first weekend.  the second weekend through the third weekend was spent at the beach soaking up some sunshine and ocean waves.  and education!  we went to the National Naval Aviation Museum and Lighthouse in Pensacola.  they were both really cool!  i climbed 177 steps to the top of the lighthouse!  the boys didn't.  my legs hated me for 4 days.  this last weekend we went to Memphis to eat, eat yes, 2 eats, visit the zoo, and eat some more.  there's nothin' like Memphis bbq, y'all.  YUM!  lots of fun and lots of family time.  it's been amazing!

and i've been RUNNING!  i NEVER thought i'd say this in a million bajillion years but...i *might* just be a runner, kids!  i have a hate/love relationship with running.  yes, i typed that right.  it's hate then love!  i hate it while i'm doing it but i love it when i get finished and know what i've accomplished.  it's amazing!  i am super proud of myself.  who would've thought that *i* would really crave a good run?  can you crave a run?  i dunno.  anyway, i do.  sometimes.  this is CRAZINESS!  but i got through chemo so i know this can and will be done.  i'm working hard to get to that 5K goal at the beginning of September!

been biking a little, too.  and love it!  not really much hating to be had.  except on an uphill climb.  those stink.  need to do much, much more of it if i'm gonna make that 25 miles at the end of August.  in Texas.  talk about HOT.  it's a little harder since the Little Dude isn't quite up to riding super far on his bike with his little long! legs pedaling as fast as fast can be!  we do go on 2ish mile rides quite frequently so at least we're riding, right?

we're leaving stupid ol' doodiehead cancer in our dust now!  only a few more months until the Herceptin treatments are done yep, still doing that every 3 weeks and this stupid, freakin' port comes out!  can you tell i find it more than a wee bit annoying?  'cause i do.  and painful sometimes.  and UGLY all pokin' out and stuff.  and we're coming up on all the "a year ago" stuff.  that seems quick, doesn't it?  i've been pretty reflect-y about that lately but i'll bore you leave that for another time.

i'm so blessed, y'all.  the folks who surround me whether physically or virtually close (thanks internet!) make me feel so valued and loved on a daily basis.  you honor me by doing so and i thank you for it.  God is good all the time and all the time God is good.  trust me.
